Stuart Benjamin

Founder

Stuart Benjamin, ChFC®, graduated from the University of Georgia in 1977, joined the MONY Group, and began a career in helping people learn how to make sound financial decisions. This journey has lasted for more than 42 years and taken him through 25 years as an instructor at Samford University teaching the "Retirement Planning Today" seminar, as well as numerous educational seminars for such companies as Energen, Alabama Power, Southern Nuclear, and Vulcan Materials. Stuart's desire to serve his clients and see them walk away with a clearer understanding of their assets and how to use them to their best advantage keeps him motivated toward continual growth.

When not involved in his business, Stuart enjoys exercising, the outdoors, camping, snow skiing, gardening, and playing golf. His passion for cooking and traveling keeps him and his family well-fed and moving.

Stuart Benjamin is proud to have been recognized as a Chairman's Level advisor annually since 2013—a distinction based on annual production attained by just 3 percent of advisors affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network®.

Each year, Commonwealth, the Registered Investment Advisor–broker/dealer that helps us process investment transactions on your behalf, recognizes Chairman's Level advisors by inviting them to an exclusive gathering of their peers, leading industry experts, and Commonwealth home office staff. Chairman's Level advisors benefit from an intensive learning and networking experience designed to help them hone their expertise, share best practices, and provide ever-higher levels of service, education, and leadership to their clients.

Debbie Tibbs

Client Services Coordinator

Debbie Tibbs, the client services coordinator, is a critical piece of the service team. She joined The Benjamin Group in February 2001 and performs an invaluable task in assisting clients with all help necessary to ensure satisfaction. Her cheerful demeanor and enthusiasm for her work are reflected in the way clients refer to her.

Apart from The Benjamin Group, Debbie finds enjoyment in cooking and baking homemade bread. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and in her church,  where she is a member of many small groups. Debbie especially enjoys Threads of Love, where she and other talented volunteers knit and crochet baby blankets and hats to donate to the many hospitals in the area.

Debbie has three boys: Josh, Ethan, and Avery. She currently lives in Hoover and will one day retire to the mountains of North Georgia where she just built a wonderful new home.

Nancy Atkins

Client Relations

Nancy Atkins is a graduate of Auburn University and joined The Benjamin Group in April 2014.  She comes to us by way of the ob-gyn residency program at UAB, where she was the residency program coordinator. Nancy's strengths are in client relations and event planning, and she is yet another way in which we can stay connected and be available to our clients.

Nancy enjoys cooking, hiking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Rhonda Flowers

Administrative Assistant

Rounding out the team at The Benjamin Group is Rhonda Flowers. When you call in, Rhonda will most likely be the pleasant voice on the other end of the line.

When not at the office, Rhonda enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She has two grown daughters, Kyra and Chelsea, and she currently lives in Alabaster with her husband, David, and their cat, Pumpkin.

Zack Benjamin

Financial Planner

Zack Benjamin began his career in finance younger than most. From the age of five, he attended his father’s financial classes. Comprehending the value of not buying anything you couldn’t pay cash for and the power of compound interest were normal dinner conversations. Studying finance at the University of Alabama was a natural segue for him. But not content to just follow in his father’s steps, he took off cross-country for a few years to work for a Registered Investment Advisor firm to apply what he had learned and to test his own skills. He has experience in holistic financial planning, specializing in cash flow management and tax strategy.

Returning home as an advisor with The Benjamin Group, Zack brings the best of both worlds, youthful innovation and solid financial foundational building blocks. He pays attention to the markets, with a focus on achieving long-term goals rather than short-term benchmarks.

Zack currently lives in Homewood with his new wife, Madison, and their two dogs. In his free time, he loves to travel, play golf, exercise and spend time outside.
